Biodiesel Boat Race

Image result for pop pop boat

Well, I took second in my boat race in class, averaging a time of about 12 seconds... my fastest run was much faster but the times that every boat was getting were all inconsistent. It is difficult to recreate a run as something is always changed, whether the temperature of the boat or the angle it is at. Overal it was a lot of fun!

Biodiesel Video

Update: We have made videos for the American Lung Association promoting the use of biofuels in hopes of winning their prize of $$$$$! Mine can be found on youtube by searching "Biodiesel, Fuel of the future".

It was a decent video but I was limited on time and resources so I probably will not win.

Biodiesel Intro

We will be making biodiesel organic fuel in class in order to eventually have a boat race with pop-pop boats that we made ourselves. We are making the biodiesel by using peanut oil and potassium hydroxide to separate the glycerine from the biodiesel. This should be fun. Here is what a pop pop boat looks like:

This one is a little advanced but that's the idea.
